About Me

I first felt drawn to becoming a therapist after facing some of my own challenges. My positive experience with therapy sparked a real curiosity and passion — the more I learned, the more I realised how much I wanted to help others in the same way. That journey eventually led me to qualify as a therapist, and it continues to inspire the work I do every day.

Before retraining, I spent over 20 years working in business, holding a BA (Hons) in Business. I later gained my Diplomas in Therapeutic Counselling and in Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic Skills and Theory, which gave me the foundation to begin this second career that I truly love.

I’ve now been working as a therapist for three years, both in private practice and with a charity. I work primarily with adults of all ages, supporting them through a wide range of difficulties, but I have particular experience in helping people with stress, depression, and anxiety.

My approach draws on both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centred Therapy. Clients often describe my style as gentle and supportive, but with the right amount of challenge. I see therapy as a collaborative relationship — I’ll never push you into areas you’re not comfortable with, but sometimes we may explore discomfort together, because that’s often where growth can happen. One of my guiding beliefs is that many of our struggles come from early experiences and unmet needs, and that the patterns we learned can be unlearned and replaced with healthier ones. I’m also inspired by Carl Jung’s words: “Where we find our fear, we find our task.”

Clients have told me they value my insight, kindness, and calming presence. Whether we work face-to-face in Liverpool, online via Teams, or over the phone, my goal is to offer a safe and understanding space where you can explore what you’re going through at your own pace.
